RES FACTA NOVA wchodzi w okres zmian, które się przejawią zarówno w swym składzie redakcyjnym, jak i w doborze swej tematyki. Zmiany będą wprowadzanane stopniowo, a ciągłość pisma ani jego tonacja nie zostaną naruszone. Do niezmienionej redakcji dojdą teraz koledzy z różnych pokoleń i różnych miast. Nasze drzewo redakcyjne otrzymuje po prostu nowy słój, samo pozostając takim samym. Obecny numer RFN udziela wiele miejsca kierunkowi muzykologii, nadanemu przez naszego przyjaciela Eero Tarastiego; a ten światowy krąg semiotyczny pozostanie już stałym elementem naszego pisma. Zadbamy równocześnie także o inne kierunki muzykologii i współczesnej humanistyki. W miarę naszych możliwości zamierzamy teraz wprowadzać inne niż polski języki europejskie. Te zmiany są na pogodę, czyli naszą busolę trzymamy na tej samej co dawniej pozycji. Jest ona – jak zawsze – rękojmią harmonii wewnętrzej w naszym gronie i sprzyja harmonizowaniu ze sobą naszych tak różnorodnych wysiłków.

RES FACTA NOVA is entering a period of change, manifest both in the composition of its editorial team and also in its selection of themes. The changes will be introduced gradually, without disturbing either the periodical's continuity or its tenor. The existing editorial team will simply be augmented by colleagues from different generations and different cities; our editorial tree will gain a new ring, whilst remaining itself the same. The current issue of RFN affords much space to music semiotics, in which our friend Eero Tarasti is a leading figure; and the world of semiotics will henceforth remain a permanent part of our journal. At the same time, we will attend to other currents in contemporary musicology and the humanities. As far as possible, we are now aiming to introduce other European languages besides Polish. These changes are not incongruous, and so our compass remains in the same position as before. It still – as always – guarantees harmony within our group and favours the harmonising of our quite diverse efforts.

Eero Aarne Pekka Tarasti

Eero Tarasti — urodzony w Helsinkach 27 września 1948, fiński muzykolog i semiotyk. W latach 1967-1975 studiował muzykologię na Uniwersytecie w Helsinach (stypendysta w paryskim Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales oraz Universidade Federal w Rio de Janeiro) oraz klasę fortepianu w Akademii im. Sibeliusa (stypendia w Wiedniu i Paryżu). Po obronie pracy habilitacyjnej na Uniwersytecie w Helsinkach, Tarasti wykładał na Uniwersytecie w Jyväskylä jako Profesor Sztuki od 1979 oraz jako Profesor Muzykologii od 1983 roku. Od 1984 roku Profesor Muzykologii na Uniwersytecie w Helsinkach. Tarasti pełni funkcję dyrektora lub prezydenta szeregu stowarzyszeń semiologicznych i muzykolo­gicznych. Od 2004 roku jest prezydentem Międzynarodowego Stowarzyszenia Studiów Semiotycznych. Napisał kilkadziesiąt książek i około 400 artykułów w wielu językach na temat semiotyki, semiotyki muzycznej, teorii muzyki, historii, estetyki i analizy.

Eero Tarasti — finnish musicologist and semiotician, currently serving as Professor of Musicology at the University of Helsinki. After receiving his Ph.D. degree at the University of Helsinki in 1978, Tarasti served at the University of Jyväskylä between 1979-1984, where he was appointed Professor of Arts Education in 1979 and Professor of Musicology in 1983. In 1984 he took the position of Professor of Musicology in Helsinki. Tarasti has held posts as Director or President in several semiotic and musical societies and since the 1970s has written and edited numerous books encompassing a semiotic approach to music. He is the President of the International Association for Semiotic Studies (2004 - current).
